Make the world your new classroom. Find your destiny. Undergo a life-changing experience. Stretch your horizons. Make new friends. Uncover new career opportunities. Develop a competitive advantage when you leave Maryville in search of employment or admittance to graduate school. Start a new language or improve existing language skills. In short, become more global ready.

Join a Maryville University faculty member and fellow students in a 10-day to six-week short-term travel-study program abroad. Experience the world of Julius Caesar as you stroll the Roman Forum. Climb the Great Wall of China as you learn about how nations protected themselves centuries ago. Explore the streets of London, the corridors of the Roman Coliseum, or the canals of Venice as you relive the golden ages of empire. Practice tai-chi on your Yangtze River cruise as you observe the construction of the Three Gorges Dam and the dramatic changes to village life hundreds of miles upstream. Stroll the battlefields of Normandy as you ponder the sacrifices made by those brave soldiers intent on ridding the world of the Nazi horror. Walk the halls of the greatest museums in the world as you ponder the astonishing skills of Michelangelo, de Vinci, Monet, Picasso and hundreds of other artists. Absorb the words of wisdom from your lecturer as you approach the mountain site of the Oracle of Delphi in ancient Greece. Explore the cloud forest of Costa Rica as you study how to protect our natural wonders from ecological devastation. Absorb the splendor of the Great Pyramid of Giza as you try to figure out how the ancient Egyptians built the only remaining member of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.

Alternatively, opt for a longer study-abroad experience where you leave Maryville’s campus far behind and spend a semester or a year on your own at a university campus in a far corner of the globe with classmates from different cultures who will enrich your life in incalculable ways. Experience university life in another part of the world as you explore subjects in your major or study new topics relating to the local environment. Somewhere in the world is a program to fit your interests and needs.

Scholarships, loans and grants are available for qualified students. Early planning is essential for a successful study-abroad experience. Visit the Center for Global Education for additional information and assistance.
